Treatment for Diabetes

Glucose is produced by the liver from the food we eat. In health person blood glucose level contains several hormones including insulin which is produced by pancreas. It is a small organ which is present in between liver and stomach.The pancreas secreats other essential enzymes which helps you to digest food.Insulin plays an important role in the movement of glucose from blood into liver , fat cells , muscle.

For type 1 and type 2 diabetes treatments are different.In type 1 diabetes lack of insulin is produced due to causes of damage to the pancreas.It is treated with insulin. While type 2 diabetes is treated with oral medicines , exercise and diet.But sometimes insulin is also needed.

Treatment for Type 1 Diabetes:

For treatment of this type 1 diabetes insulin is needed. If the treatment goes without insulin then glucose level in blood is increases to very high level then their is chances of patient goes in coma and loss of consciousness.

So that treatment includes a healthy diet and insulin treatment. With glucose meter you should need to monitoring on levels of blood glucose and be careful about levels which do not go too low or high. Always keep in contact with your doctor to ensure the levels of blood glucose are controlled.

Treatment for Type 2 Diabetes:

Type 2 diabetes can be treated with health diet , exercise which is given by your doctor.If you needed you should take some oral anti diabetic medications which confirm by your doctor. Moniter your blood glucose level at home and also effectiveness of treatment with blood test by seeing your doctor.

The long term complication of diabetes are eye problems , kidney damage , foot problem etc. Also you should need to treat other medical conditions which is associated with diabetes such as obesity,high cholesterol , high blood presure etc.
