Guide on Thyroid Cancer and its Types

Thyroid cancer occurs in the thyroid cells. The thyroid gland produces hormones which is essential for regulating the blood pressure, body weight, body temperature  and heart rate. It is more common in women than men. When the cells in the thyroid gland may undergoes a genetic change, the thyroid cancer occurs. The changes allows an uncontrolled  growth of the cells and these abnormal cells can be spread throughout the body. The thyroid cancer may be divided into four types:

a. Papillary and Follicular Thyroid Cancer:
These are most common cancer types and it is begins in the follicular cells which is present in the thyroid. Mostly both cancers are grows very slowly so in most cases it can be detected early.

b. Medullary Thyroid Cancer:
This type of thyroid cancer may be associated with the inherited genetic syndrome. It is arises in the C cells and it is easier to control if it is treated before it spreads to other parts of your body.

c. Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer:
This type of cancer is less common and it is difficult for treating. The anaplastic thyroid cancer may be arises in the follicular cells. It is not easy for recognize because the cancer cells are tend to spread and grows very fastly.

d. Thyroid Lymphoma:
It is very rare thyroid cancer. It begins in the immune systems cells in thyroid.
